Best Online Vintage Clothing Stores

Where to find great vintage wear online

Vintage Clothing has become quite fashionable. There's now a big market out there for second hand clothing and vintage wear, which means there are now quite a lot of online vintage clothing stores out there with everybody trying to cash in on this trend.

However the thing about fashion is that there's some items that are timeless, and then there's those 80's prom style dresses that are just never going to be in fashion again (I hope!). So how do you find great vintage wear that won't make you look like you're "stuck in the 80's"?

Well I'm here to help. I love shopping in thrift stores and buying vintage clothing as I tend to not like a lot of the fashions of today so much. Therefore I thought I would provide a list of vintage clothing stores that I recommend.

Please keep in mind that what we're buying is second hand clothing when we buy vintage. It's old, it's been worn most of the time, and it's not always in as new condition. So because of that I don't like sites that think because they're selling vintage it's ok to jack up the price to something rediculous so they make a huge profit margin. So most of my sites below are ones that provide reasonably priced vintage clothing.

Available Right Now At Rusty Zipper

Rusty Zipper

Rusty Zipper
The original online vintage clothing store and by far the best for value and range. This site has a huge selection and everything is separated by style, sex or era which is very handy. An all round great vintage shop that I adore.

Available Right Now At Modcloth

Mod Cloth
Mod Cloth are pretty well known to most vintage clothing buyers who shop online. They have a great eye for fashion and have vintage clothing and vintage-look modern clothing available as well as accessories and shoes so they're a one-stop fashion stop. Expect to pay a bit more here but it's well worth it.
The only down side I find to shopping here is that because they are so well known a lot of items sell so fast that you can often find pages of "out of stock/sold out" items which can be disappointing when you see something you would have liked to buy. But if you keep browsing until you get to the items in stock you're sure to find something worth buying.

Available At Ebay Right Now

Ebay
Ebay has a lot of sellers dedicated to selling vintage clothing. Some of it should never have left the box in the back of the closet, but if you are patient you will find some great buys. They categorise their vintage wear pretty well so say you're looking for an outfit for an 80's party you can search through 1980's clothing only if you so desire.

Available At Etsy Right Now

Etsy
I've spoken about how great Etsy is before so I won't blab on about it. Just check out their great vintage section. They have everything from vintage clothes, art, sewing patterns, furniture and everything in between.

Available Right Now At Vintage Trends

Vintage Trends
Most of the stuff available here is a little on the daggy side but they do have an interesting Military vintage collection which I think men would really love. Think old air force jackets and that type of thing. Anyway I thought that was pretty cool.

Available Right Now At Nelda's

Nelda's Vintage Clothing
It's a simple site but there is some pretty nice finds here. It's easy to navigate and everything is very reasonably priced. There's some nice coats for the coming fall like this faux fur mod style coat

Stop Staring
Wow is all I can say. It's easy to see where they get their name from when you have a look at the beautiful clothing on offer here. A bit more pricey but their clothes are just so beautiful that these are the sort of pieces you wouldn't mind forking out a little extra for. They've been in business 10 years and really know their market well. I could go crazy spending in here.

Note: I couldn't get a picture but click here and you can see one of their dresses

Available Right Now At Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal
This shop is aimed at a younger market, but they do have some very nice items and also sell vintage inspired separate from their true vintage items. The accessories sections are well worth having a look at here.

Available Right Now At Vintageous

Vintageous
I'm mainly including this one because they have a huge range. Prices are not too bad but could be better. Still there are some very nice clothes here. Similar to Mod Cloth though in that they often have sold items still being displayed.

Last but not least the best place to find vintage is at your local thrift/vintage store or flea markets! If you're not sure where they are try The Thrift Shopper.

It has the most extensive list of thrift stores on the net. You can search your local area to find stores close to you. I'm a huge fan  of thrift stores. I've found some real treasures in them over the years and could spend hours in thrift stores. I actually spent 2  hours today in one. But that's another story.

Cheers,

Listerino
